Falling Down
I spent a good chunk of last weekend curled up on the couch drinking cheap wine and watching kung-fu movies; for an encore I spent this weekend generally not leaving the house, eating jook, and reading. I took a break to watch Hard-boiled with Sam, with some Two Brother’s Heavy Handed IPA as our beer of choice, which we deemed the only acceptable beverage for such a movie.
This week I continued my recent trend of seeing rock stars for the first time roughly 10 years past their prime when I went to see Oasis on Wednesday. Yes, I know, Oasis. Not everyone’s cup of tea but for some reason even though everything they’ve produced this decade has been mediocre at best (with a few exceptions), I’ve still followed them, and felt like I should see them live at least once. Wasn’t the most energetic show I’ve ever attended, but they played just about everything I could have reasonably expected to hear (including an acoustic Don’t Look Back in Anger, which was a real treat). The level of dgaf was definitely high, and befitting of such aging rock stars—even if they’re probably only considered such in their home country. But I’m still glad I went =)
