Thanksgiving!
Brian, Oscar, and I made it safely back to Ames last night (after braving the stand-still traffic on the way out of Mpls), and I have since enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving meal and subsequent nap, a walk through Moore park, and we’re about to indulge in some apple pie fresh from the oven.
It’s an ideal way to top off what has been an incredibly ‘busy’ week; Brian and I went to Calexico on Saturday (which was a great show, even better than last time), and I actually went to a pre-thanksgiving dinner on Monday evening with some friends and lab-mates. A couple of them commandeered the lab’s grill and spent Monday afternoon grilling a bird, which ended up being some of the tastiest turkey I’ve ever had. But it feels great to be back in Ames, even if almost no one else came back for the holiday =) Ames ftw.
