Free hour is wonderful
Friday was relatively exciting; an old friend was in town and we went out with some of the old lab crew to Mayslack’s, one of our old haunts. Even though it was Halloween, we had gotten there early and had the best seats in the house (elevated table right next to the door) so that when things livened up a bit we got to survey all the costumes as they walked in the door. I think the best ones I saw were a lego man, a group dressed up as various mario kart racers, the Dude, and some guy wearing flannel, cutoff overalls, and a ‘Miss North Dakota’ sash. I guess Iowa isn’t the butt of every joke up here.
The rest of the weekend has been pretty quiet. The weather was unnaturally warm so I spent the better part of the afternoon on Saturday playing soccer (what else), to the point of needing a caffeine nap when I was done. The extra hour helped, too. I slept a lot last night and have felt pretty refreshed today, though I haven’t accomplished much beyond washing my new lobster sheets. And now we have a mere two days until all this election nonsense is over… thank goodness.
