futbol, etc.
so a few random things here. i don’t often post about soccer since it’s one of those things that’s really only interesting if you’re directly involved (even more so than anything else i put on here), but tonight was a rather special night. this season my team had gotten moved up to the second-highest division in the monday city league, and after 6 games had second-to-last place locked up while giving up the most goals in our division. we played a team tonight that beat us by 6 goals in the first game. it was hot as hell. i didn’t expect much. but somehow we pulled out a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the funnest game i’ve been a part of in quite some time. on top of that, the last few games i’ve played had been exceptionally poor, so i had some incentive to redeem myself. tonight i think i did. i kicked ass like i haven’t done in a long while, and managed to play the whole 90 minutes. i’ll pay the price tomorrow, but for now it’s feeling pretty good =) i might have actually earned my post-game beer tonight.
on a related note, screw this damn heat. it’s june and already we’re in the middle of a severe drought & heat wave. the weather here is so messed up lately. i thought it was supposed to be cold up north, what gives?
finally, i still hate safari (even with fixed tabs), it feels about 10x slower than ff, and they need to quit that stupid coverflow-wannabe crap that’s invaded everything they make now. come back, steve =(
