Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend Rock the Garden, an annual outdoor concert hosted by MPR on the hill at the Walker Art Center. I haven’t been to an outdoor concert since I went to see STP play in a cornfield near Indianola last summer, and while no one at RTG put on quite the show STP did, the experience at the Walker was a *tad* more pleasant overall.  I had had my reservations at first, since the day had started out unbearably hot and humid, but by the time I showed up it had started to cloud over and there was even a bit of a breeze. (Incidentally, no tubby lobsters on Saturday!) After a couple of beers and a bahn mi, I was ready to just sit there all night. As for the music, I arrived in time to see Yeasayer, which was fun enough; but getting to see Calexico and the Decemberists was a treat. Was a lot of fun and a great way to chill out on a Saturday evening, I’d definitely consider going back next year.
